Our
Origin Story
Games Ate My Homework is an independent online gaming store run by husband and wife team Mike and Sigga, two massive nerds who have been playing games for a long time and really appreciate the design and art of video games and the machines they play on.
The idea for the store was born after one too many “surprises” when ordering second hand games online and we decided to take the guessing game out of buying pre-loved games and consoles online. Therefore, everything we stock has been cleaned and tested (and refurbished when needed), then packaged with care and sent out with a trusted carrier.
Our Team
Mike
Owner & Repair BearMike has been playing video games since the 90s, first in the many arcades of London and then he got a SNES for Christmas one year, and there was no going back!
His favourite game is Tekken (Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection in particular) but he’s also been known to play other fighting games as well as RPGs.
His favourite console is the SNES (with the PS2 and Dreamcast coming close) but these days he’s mostly playing on Steam, PS5 or the Switch 2.
Sigga
Owner & Fake GamerSigga’s gaming started on a PC that needed a separate start up floppy disc (the black ones that were actually floppy) with text adventure games (and a brief attempt at Leisure Suit Larry at an altogether inappropriate age!) before finding Tetris, her favourite game to this day.
Her favourite console has to be the NES, if only for pure nostalgia! Many an afternoon after school was spent with friends playing Super Mario 3 and other NES classics.
She mostly plays Animal Crossing on the Switch Lite and Tetris on a Game Boy Color now.
Our Goal
Quality
We take pride in what we offer our customers and we do not judge or gate keep. We stock everything from fan favourites and cult classics to guilty pleasures. Like what you like, play what you like. Just keep playing.
Everything we stock has been thoroughly cleaned, tested as well as refurbished when needed, and then packaged with care and sent out with a carrier that we trust.
Preservation
We love games, the design and art that goes into them, and we wish to do our part in preserving analogue games in a digital world. We do our best to source manuals where possible, fix tears and press creases. Cartridge games get fresh batteries and discs are resurfaced if too scratched to play.
We also strongly believe that if you buy a game, you should own it outright and with actual cartridges and discs, this is what you get.
For updates of what we have in the store and other news, we have a regular newsletter that you can sign up for below. This is where we first announce new additions to the store and any seasonal sales that may be coming up.
And if you want to see what we get up to more often, check us out on our socials. We’re @gamesatemyhomework on Instagram, Tik Tok and YouTube - that’s where we post the daily stuffs and sometimes get a bit silly :)
